Sustainability, Biodiversity, Environment and Safeguarding

Green Practices, Sustainable Commitment

The Boat House benefits from an A1 BER, the highest energy rating in Ireland, offering exceptional efficiency, year-round comfort, and ultra-low running costs. With modern features such as a geo-thermal heat pump and solar panels, it delivers near-zero energy use, making it a future-proof, low-maintenance, and highly desirable retreat.

Wildlife guardians,
dedicated, Beara advocates

Gail and Niall MacAllister are volunteers for the Seal Sanctuary and are often seen with a canoe on the roof so they can paddle out to a pup in distress somewhere on the Beara Peninsula. All tips given for the Kayak Rental are donated to the Seal Sanctuary.

Niall is Captain of Cul Lir, Ireland’s first purpose built marine research yacht and Gail works closing with a number of organisations to understand and protect our wildlife and biodiversity.

We take Safeguarding our clients seriously. Gail MacAllister is a Safeguarding 1, 2 and 3 tutor for Sport Ireland and regularly runs courses on behalf of Irish Sailing and other sporting organisations. You can read our Safeguarding Statement below.

The full suite of Safeguarding documents are available to download. This includes policies on Photography, WhatsApp, Disciplinary, Complaints & Appeals, Physical Contact, Recruitment, Concussion, Anti-Bullying and more. Plus report forms for accidents and the full TUSLA Child Protection and Welfare report form.
